AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Finally Surfaces

Phenom II X4 940 is hitting 16.xx SuperPI1M on air apparently. About 4.3ghz+ (according to hwbot stats, 11.xx @ 6ghz+)
Be interesting to see whether this will compete with this or whether it's merely more flexible with the multiplier. Main memory massaging may well be nice.
I still feel this is a fine cpu. 16s tho is just outside the Intel ballpark. Sexy pricing could maybe sell more units.

Once 45nm AM2+ stock at retailers deplete, I'd expect the X4 955 to replace the X4 940 in the ~£180-190 price bracket, with the other 9x5 parts sitting below that of existing 920 and 940 CPU's. If that's the case, it'll be good news for us and even better news if recent AM3 batches are capable of higher overclocks! 
Suppose AMD can get away with pricing these CPU's close to that of the i7 920, purely because as a platform overall, an AM3 rig comes out considerably cheaper. They're certainly holding up well against the Core 2 Quad.
