too many shrooms
Ok i am currently testing a small overclock on my fx6100.i have the multiplyer at 19.5 so my core clock is 3.9ghz, with my core voltage at 1.43

It has been running for an hour an 15 mins with the temp reaching 50°c, now i have tryed pushing for 4ghz before on 1.45v but i had cores fail. So far this is the best i have been able to do now i havnt messed with thefsb or anything does anyone have any advice please?

Thanks

Ps sorry about the bad grammar i am writing this from my phone

What I can tell you is that mine only goes to 3.9 as well before cores start failing. I assume that's all these chips can do.

Ahhh ok thanks buddyits been running stable through at prime 95small fft test for 2 hours an ten mins, would you think its safe to say its stable?

Prime pushes all cores to 100% load, no application or game will ever do that, so I would leave it like that if it hasn't failed. Also, if temps are decent, you should be fine. I actually left mine at 3.8 with that boost thing on, so it tones it down to 1.4 when not in games or power hungry apps. Keeps things cool and quiet.

My temps havnt gone above 51°c man an thanks for your imput, this is my first even overclock so i can use all the info i can get

I have heard of people getting 4.4ghz on the fx6100 tho an thats on air cooling i have a h100i and i cant get past 4ghz

It's luck of the silicone draw. All you can do is add volts and speed until you hit about 60C under load at which point you've reached your limit.

Also with Prime use the blend test and test it for at least 8 hours.

i tested a small fft test twice for 3 hours each time i havnt done a blend test yet i will try that later, i wasnt getting to 60c tho only 51C. everytime i tryed to up it to 4ghz i got a core fail after 25/30 mins of the small fft test

well i may give that another pop in a few days as i have just ordered some faster ram an i will need to change the timings, tho if i remember right i did bump it up to 1.46v an my temps went through the roof
