AMD Opteron Price Cuts

AMD, as of the 30th October, are price cutting their Opteron range. If you're in the market for one of these CPU's, you would be wise to check the news article because there are some major bargains to be had. New folding rigs anyone?

Pretty neat...but AMD are flogging a dead horse at the moment. They need to step it up and show their investers something that rivals C2D

hmmmm, this may alter my super rig i'm planning. at the moment, do i want cheap option, or pure performance......

I currently have a Opteron 146 @ 2.8ghz, do you think if I upgraded to a 165 dual core I would see much difference if I managed to get it to 2.8ghz aswell?

I think single>dual core you'd see better response times coming out of games and multi-tasking
