Amazing to see what drivers can do even when most of the hardware is from 2011. Congrats to that driver team, sure it wasn't easy.

Pretty much yeah, The 290 and 290X are within a hair of eachother especially if you overclock the 290.

290 = 2560 Steam Processors
290X = 2816 Steam Processors

Don't forget about the TMUs.. that makes a difference too. Its one reason why Nvidia do better in Heaven/Valley. They have more TMU units.

I wanted to test OPEN CL improvements with my HD7770 but I don't have the time to install the benchmarking utility and run the tests

I am more interested in some of the fixes listed for this driver.

I just don't know why PLP is only for the 285, has anyone heard a reason? I know most of the things that locked out on many of the cards is going to be opened in later drivers in January or February.

The 285 is based on a different chip compared to the others. I believe its an earlier version of the new stuff that is yet to come out.

After some testing, I have found Frame Pacing is doing to funky things to my benchmarks. Valley I loose 11fps and 3dMark11 I loose 100 points on Xtreme. It's changing the CPU score and not the graphics score. When I turn off frame pacing, everything goes back to normal. I think this may be where AMD is getting this driver lowers CPU overhead.

One good note, both my monitors wake from sleep at the same time now, instead of one coming on before the other. I want to say these drivers are a keeper, but I have more testing to do this weekend.

Under Gaming>3d Application Settings> AMD Crossfire X. Its at the very bottom, you have to scroll down to it.
