AMD Hawaii

If it performs near a titan for under $600(cheaper than 780) and on top of that a game bundle of many big AAA coming out.. We'll see some very aggressive price wars which is only better for the consumer.

That the hope (y) I really hope amd get a good run on the new hardware.

Well hopefully they can incorporate some type of chip to control frame pacing instead of on the software side like nvidia. Also will be interesting to see how the 3 new ACE geometry engines will work out.

Edit: 4 asynchronous computing engines (ACEs), and 3 geometry engines. Sorry got them mixed up before. Also along with those additions on the hardware level there will also be more stream processors(obviously).

hopefully a frame pacing solution is implemented on the hardware level.
if the pricing and performance is as it is suggested things look good for amd, at least as far as gpus are concerned

If the rumors are true, the 9970 will be amazing. I was considering a 770/780, but I'm putting off buying a new card until there is more concrete news.

Confirmed

Granite they don't have a source but if it is true then the waiting game shall begin!

Edit: The source they provide(BSN) does not have a source from their webpage. That's what i meant above:p

If the the performance is as good as they say it is and those prices are legit then these cards are a bargain.

290 is £60 cheaper than the 780 and the 290x is £250 cheaper than the Titan.

Bit surprised there is the massive price gap between the 280 and the 290 though

So you are not surprised in the massive price gap between the GTX Titan/780? :p That's a bigger price gap than the 280x and 290x.

I have noticed though that the 270x is on par with a 7870. A 280x is a 7970. Where's the 7950?

there will be a 270 an 280 i believe in the future that is, also i think the price may be a lil less an maybe thats why amd are holding on to the price.

Excellent question! Not that I'm biased just because I run those, but I found the 7950 was by far the best bang-for-the-buck GPU at the $300CDN price point for quite some time.

Feel like 7950s get the least support out of all the cards and they are the best value for money cards as well. My 7950 is all alone:(

There are no power estimations out yet, right? Wondering if I can run 2x R9 290X in Crossfire with a Corsair RM1000

erm a 1000w psu......am gonna jump the gun an say yeah, you will be able to and still have some to spare

Well, the 280X has a 250W TDP, two of them would then be around 500W TDP only for GPU, then of course they would be overclocked, in the same system as an overclocked CPU a couple of HDDs and so on. I think it >should< work, but I'm just not at all sure about that ;)
