AMD has reportedly released new AGESA Microcode for Ryzen

AMD has reportedly released new AGESA Microcode for Ryzen, which is designed to improve RAM compatibility on their AM4 platform. This new code should soon be released in new UEFI/BIOS files for AM4 motherboard soon.

I doubt it will hit 4GHz on memory. To many cores. X99 can't do it. It gets all wonky above 3.4GHz. But compatibility and stability are more than welcome. Probably it will get some optimizations. Ryzen has way more to give.

Only time will tell. better compatibility would be very welcome and stop a lot of the early issues. Be nice if it can match Z170 for memory speed though....

Imagine if 4Ghz became possible with the right tweaks. Unless 3.2Ghz has already removed memory speed as the... bottleneck... *shiver*... then we could see huge boosts in performance at 4Ghz.

Ryzen is much more sensitive to memory speed than Intel. If they manage to add high speed memory support that would be joy.

Ryzen does benefit more from higher speed memory than Intel, but not tremendously; the 7700K also greatly benefits from 3000Mhz memory. We'll know for sure whether Ryzen is more sensitive to memory speed once we see whether anything past 3200Mhz continues to scale linearly. If it does, high speed memory kits for AMD systems may be big sellers, even if it meant lower CPU speeds were necessary. Imagine if 3600Mhz memory kits improved gaming more than the difference between 3.9Ghz and 4Ghz, but 3600Mhz memory was only stable at 3.9Ghz on the core.
