AMD has increased their R&D budget by almost 22% in the past year

Still nothing in the grand scheme of things. They need to get an immense amount of efficiency per dollar spent to stay competitive. I hope a lot of it is going towards GPU R&D

Wouldn't that need to be Radeon increasing R&D to hit the GPU side? I just hope they spend it wisely before this bubble bursts. Since high end GPU's have outsold midrange on the Steam survey for the first time ever.

Where are you seeing it say high-end GPU's are outselling midrange ones?

The Vega sales growth is higher than the 580 or 570 for end of the month. Even the 1080Ti had less of a sales decline than the 1070.

The last column should be YTD. The Vega outpaced the YTD falloff. Granted is a very small chuck of data, and probably not a perfect interpretation without revealing actual sales.

I don't think that indicates it's selling better. It is more likely due to the fact that starting from 0% it will gain share more quickly vs the Polaris chips needing more to sell to move up the charts on Steam.

Add in the fact that Steam Survey is a nice tool in very few instances and is 99% of the time not accurate information. If the survey was automatic every month for every user, it would be very very accurate. However so few people get a month, just doesn't work out.

Are you sure every user? I have talked to a lot of people that never get polled about hardware. Steam won't release their survey numbers even to hardware manufacturers.
