According to Mercury Research, AMD has gained 4.8% GPU market share in the last quarter, increasing their market share to a total of 34.2%.

So much good news lately. With Polaris making the way through it should keep getting better unless nVidia decides to make something and sell it for what its worth.

exactly, its nvidia's arrogant behaviour thats starting to drive amd sales which is awesome.
 
AMD is making pretty good gains and honestly this is the best strategy for them even if it's not immediately profitable like they need it to be. By them aiming for the mass of the market, this gives them much needed leverage for software specific IP(from open source) to be used instead of Nvifias alternative. The more they can take away from Nvidia on the software side, the stronger there hardware will look. Hopefully Vega can drive this forward, where hardware is very strong and the increase in market share now benefits it's launch
