Hi just wondering is the amd good for rendering as I use keyshot 5 and its cpu based rendering so was wondering if i should buy this or should i buy Intel 5930K 3.50GHz (Haswell-E) Socket LGA2011-V3 Processor - OEM (CM8064801548338) but the difference between Intel 5960X Extreme 3.00GHz (Haswell-E) Socket LGA2011-V3 Processor - OEM (CM8064801547964) which one is the better option. they both look the same to me.

Well the price gap between an 9590 (or even better an 8350) and either of the 5930K or the 5960x is HUUUUUUUUUGE! An AMD cpu will still do fine with rendering stuff, actually this is what they had been renowned for. You could go for AMD.
Unless you are willing and able to pay the price premium for a 2011-3 chip! then go with intel!

When it comes to rendering, you need strong single cores by that I mean single core performance, the more cores the faster you'll render... the stronger those individual cores are you'll render even faster 
It's not just about the Herz when rendering its the IPC that really matters, IMO Ivy Bridge still has a better Instruction Per Cycle count than the latest Haswell stuff, Intel grossly have the edge when it comes to CPU rendering, AMD have great CPUs but nothing that can compare in this field.

Hi Wraithguard so the Ivybridge-E is better then is that what your saying over Haswell-E?
As I need more cpu to render with the more I have the faster I it will be but the Haswell-E has 12 and the Ivybridge-E has 8.

There is only a 3 - 5% performance gain to be had with Haswell over Ivy-B (clock for clock) the 2 most popular for rendering are 3930K and 4770K mainly due to them being hyperthreaded and great strong stock speeds out the box. I have seen the AMD 9590 used for render work and it is a force to be reckoned with, BUT, it's a thirsty beast and also requires quite a bit of help dissipating its horrendous heat.
Going back to your OP. The differences between the 5930K and 5960X are that the 5930K has 2 cores and 4 threads and 5MB less cache than the 5960X, while the 5930K does have a slightly higher clock speed (500Mhz) the 5960X beats it over all with more cores and threads.

Off topic, I never really understood the difference between 4770K and 4790K?... I mean, did they just think that "ohhh, lets make a new CPU, cause we can... it ain't that much special, so just put a higher last number on it, that will make people think it's much better :lol:"...

4790k is based off Haswell, but it is also a refined version named Devil's Canyon, which has a better IHS and allows for better OC'ing thermal dissipation.

Well what does Keyshot prefer? Some engines will use AMD cpus to the point where the 9590 is slightly faster/as fast as your average i7 quad core.

compareing a 5960X to a FX8350 (9590 is a pointless chip) is like compareing apples to chicken liver pate.
The AM3+ platform has been abandoned and is out of date more usefull for cheap gameing and running VM's the new i7's stomp all over the older FX chips go with what your budget allows.

That's the great thing about Keyshot, it doesn't matter it will use either Intel, AMD or NVIDIA unlike Blender, Maya, 3DSMax or 3DSIM. Actually looking at getting a key at the moment.
It all comes down to budget. Simple.
Low budget - AMD and deal with the downfalls
High budget - Intel and deal with the price

but how good is the E5-1650 v3 3.5GHz?
This seems to be the best 3.5GHz as all the other have lower GHz.
