I'd not take too much notice of any showdown between the 2 as one is clearly intended to be the 3rd orso from the top end from the one manufacturer in terms of single gpu cards, where as the other is meant to be their top end single gpu. The target markets would be different.
U can argue cost, but I think we need to appreciate that increasingly the one camp doesn't reflect too much on what the other tag their cards at. The user can bear the reflection for sure, that would be their choice of which camp they'd prefer over the other whilst taking the price into consideration.
But I will say this on behalf of all gaming and enthusiasts out there, if I may be so bold, to BOTH card camps --- 3.5% woohoo !! If I had 100 fps, I'll now get 103.5 !!! Fantastic !! (on artificial benching too)
