AMD confirms that Ryzen 2nd Generation will be soldered

Current Ryzen?

Are the current Ryzen CPU's soldered or do they use paste? Is it different between Threadripper, Ryzen 7, 5, and 3? Would be nice to be able to compare it.

The only CPU I am aware of having TIM is the new Raven Ridge APUs. Threadripper and normal Ryzens I believe are all soldered.

Today's Ryzen CPU are soldered. AMD's newly released Raven Ridge APUs are the only exceptions.

TBH the 2200G is so cheap for what you get I wouldn't expect solder. I doubt very much you would need it, either.

Yup, agreed. These things are targeted towards budget builders, not overclockers, even though that's the first thing that every dopey YouTuber tries with the bloody things.
