Now this is a shame. I can totally understand why AMD would choose to do this, the worst type of PC enthusiast (those who know a bit, but not enough!) can easily give these chips negative reviews if they don't unlock or overclock well.
For me, chips like this are what make AMD great. Cheap price, and if you do overclock, there's usually massive gains to be had and they represent great value for money. Even if they don't clock well, you still get a very tidy CPU for the money, which leaves more to spend on a better GFX card of course!
