With all the Fury X backlash, I'm curious if this will be the 79** series all over again. Too conservative on stock clocks, so people can get a higher overclock.

I'm replacing my 390 with a 480 once the reviews come out

Leaked benchmarks (huge grain of salt taken) show that the RX 480 performs somewhere between the R9 390X and GTX 980, so not sure if it's worth upgrading if you have a R9 390. I'm considering getting a RX 480 as well, but I'm running on a R9 280X.

I sold my Fury X after being impressed by early benchmarks. It's still a downgrade but I consider it worth it when taking into account power consumption of ~100watts. Means I can get 2 480s and use less power than a Fury X. And probably perform around 1070 performance.

I have to wait for the bench marks. and even then i dont know if il bother. the 780 i have now with its mods and water cooling is just a bit faster than a 970 stock. And im considering just getting a 780ti / possibly titan, as the water block i have will fit those. I dont really think i need more than that for 1080p, but if the gaming bench marks turn out to be as good as they imply. i may go ahead and get one. I still dont really see it being any faster than a ti though. And if that is the case i know il be able to oc a ti better just because of the cooling and the fact that i already know what i need to edit in the bios to get most out of a 780.

That much compute with so little power draw and at that price point, its going to let me build one monster of a gpu realtime rendering box for work, huge implications in markets other than gaming! So pumped.

Personally I would say even if you have a 390, upgrade anyways if you have the money.

Yeah the power draw alone makes it worth it. Especially the rumors of 1500mhz OCs being easily done and rumors of 1400mhz AIBs being available soon after launch. Those are pretty big OCs

Where I stand on this matter is i'll wait for the independent reviews "i'll have the money ready by then" and go from there as to which graphics card to buy ;)

Did we get temps and performance of the cooler? Must have missed it.

If not then who knows, the cooler might be able to handle a decent OC. If the power delivery etc isnt going to be a limiting factor, then I see no reason as to why it would be better for crossfire? Better to have the bottom card dumping the heat outside instead of heating up the top card. Both cards dumping the heat outside is even better regardless of how little heat they may dump.

If we get a more efficient blower cooler then I get it though.
