Now I hope those Samsung/GloFo 14nm FinFETs are going to be better than 16nm TSMC counterparts

So, given the fact that I was gonna buy a new card (prolly r9 390), this is looking like it's actually worth waiting for the next gen for once?

This appears a big leap forward (to a layman like myself) for AMD and Nvidia have been crowing about pascal somewhat for a while.

Guess I need to go find out which companies still have "upgrade" promotions running so I can away from my current crappy card now :P

Just gonna say I called this 14nm over 16nm months ago;)
This will really help them compete with Nvidia. Who are going to use 16nm, this may be the one advantage they need to solidify there place as the GPU king this gen since as of now they are so close(fury x/980ti)

my hope/belief is that 14nm FinFet will be rock solid. AMD/GloFo/Samsung all have a lot riding on its success, i don't think it will be allowed to fail

Considering its Samsungs design, good chance it'll be very good. Also why AMD said the yields were good and on track for release
