AMD A6 3400M Laptop? :]

Okay guys :] Ellie wants to get herself a laptop for her mum and for generally the house.

Laptop will be used for

- HTPC stuff like Movies connected to a HD TV (Sony Bravia)
- General Internet (Youtube,Facebook,Tumblr,Twitter)
- Lighter Gaming (Emulators like PSX and N64 one's) and games like Don't starve,Minecraft and Few other games of that type
- Sound production And Game modding

"But Ellieeeeeee, Intel has i5 so and so and i3 so and so for the laptops why not a intel option"

Personal Rig: i7 4820K (3770k still has that mystery problem, So once solved will be given to a special friend of hers....who is more like a little sister :] )

Personal Laptop/Tablet (Need badly for Art stuffs and College): i5 2520M

Old Family Laptop: Celeron 900

This Motherglubber wants some Diversity :O) All Intel would be boring :( Even if Ellie has a Radeon Card (7950)

"buttycakes you just don't know know....how i i, think you should go go for a new newer APU U"

Budget D:. + I want it to be quad core, A6 is pretty much what i wanna go for, it's more peace of mind.

"But Ellie whats the point of this thread?"

Just wanna see how it'd do in the tasks set, Ellie has two friends who have a6's and they sound great and they do that stuff on em. BUT gotta be sure :3

"But ellie you have a i5 2520m tablet laptop (Lenovo X220T to be exact for you wanna knowers, you cute bunch of nerds ^^), Why not use that"

- Ellie got college D:, So she'll be out with her own thing there....doing the art :3, What if her mum or sis wanna Just connect a pooter to the tv, Do fun while Ellie be out

- It Hates quite a few games so it overheats to show its hatred of it, Dunno why.

"But that Celeron 900 is okay"

It's .....It works but it's Needing fixed up, it's a good laptop we'll keep it spare, but it also doesn't have outright horsepower.....but we still love ....todd :].

"Buttttttt Ellie my dog pooped out a couch And It has gherken teeth and cannot sing at all"
Calm em down, Cry over cactuses with them, You'd find something in yer feelings jam with them....it'll all make sense when you really get into it, you'll make a good friend with them and the couch.
Just talk it over.

"Ellie we know...."

I just like clarifying some stuff @w@

"Ellie can you think of any more questions"

I'm good.

"Eat me"

OKAY :D *nibble*

TLDR - Is the a6 3400m any good for slight gaming and general family stuff (please keep it to the point in future, we can't help otherwise and English isn't everyone's first language.)

That APU is aight for general stuff and does some casual games OK. An a8 would be a better bet for more gaming-esque stuff. I'm guessing you were looking at something like this?

Barnsleys suggestion was good. Look for any lenovo laptop with appropriate specs and within your budget. Lenovo in general is a very reliable brand.

Ellie strikes again  I'm now questioning reality... or .. never mind I'm so confused right now.

For the record I've never had a lenovo/IBM die on me. My family still has a windows 2000 IBM thinkpad-thingy up in the roof that still works ^_^. Hence why I'm quite a fan. Whodathunk proper cooling, solid build quality and a decent price would actually work.
considering how they're one of the only Windows product companies still massively growing I'm not the only one who likes a lenovo.

I agree :], My tablet (as stated) and our old family laptop are Lenovo, and our android tablet only brand i seem to outright trust for OEM.

Even this g550 feels like you could put a stick of dynamite in blow it up and it'll only chip it.

lD hauhauhauhau.

Seems to be the most used brand of pootpoots in the house, Even if i personally used GIGABYTE the most for motherboards.

I least trust Foxxconn though, 1 crappy motherboard and frustrating stock coolers, made me trust it zilch

Yeah its fine. Personally I'd go for 8.1 but whatever.

One of my old foxxconn motherboards broke while putting it inside the case, you could feel that it was really cheap thin and flexible

Arhh good old Foxxconn the backbone behind the surprisingly expensive and popular biblical fruit companies vowel based products.
