Spotted on another forum

MSI AMD AM2 NForce5z Mainboard SLI PCI-Express x32 DDR2-1066 Azalia Surround Sound SATA II RAID Dual G-LAN IEEE1394

Atleast this board means that nvidia is getting its act together as far as nforce 5 is concerened and that mobo producers have teh board in testing

Discuss....

I hope that last slot is a genuine PCI slot and not one that only takes a special option card :S

It is interesting to see though other firms mimicking the Expert/Venus B layout from DFI - and i like it! :)

What cooling will be on the chipset? passive or active? I think abit have q-otes but i bet they will ruin the board with a small little fan.

The 24 and 4 pin slots are miles away from eah other :( and it looks like theres no floppy connector for that bit extra juice to the PCI-E

Do floppy connectors really make a difference? There's a molex there, and PCI-E slots can only supply so much power so i dont see that as a drawback (the fewer connectors i have to plug into my motherboard the better).

Hate the purple and the flower on the board, 4 pin connector is in a stupid place, dont like the placement on the IDE and 24pin next to each other, normal IDE cables are never straight at the end so they are going to interfere.

Not that interested in Abit boards anymore tbh, too much bling, not enough bang. Hopefully other manufacturers are working on their boards too.

Epox are :) I think thats an endorsement board, but it aint Wendy? Someone needs a new symbol, put it that way :)

The molex is used instead of the floppy to give some PCI-E stability.

The purple reminds me of the classic (and highly overclockable) Soltek NF2 boards.

4pin instad of 8 pin connector though? it's hard to keep up with all these changes and I struggle to understand why they went 8-pin to start with before hand.

A new Mach Socket or chilly adaptor will be required also.

It's a shame that SoundStorm (Nvidia onchip sound) has not made a comeback but I am glad that sli x16 will be on a single southbridge chip.

One thing I thought would have been learnt from 1st generation multi GPU platforms is the fact that that chipset is in a less than ideal position.

No MOSFET COOLERS - but they are in a great place to make up some water cooling block ;)

NF5 for skt939?

So, the picture of Abit motherboard is a fake, however - the specs were semi-right: "nForce5" chipset in question is known under a name "MCP55", and its more or less the same nForce4 SLI chipset we know today, only featuring new enhancements in various sectors: it supports 20 PCIe lanes (so the two x16 slots you're seeing on a picture are electrically x16. Data throughput wise - x8), six SATA-II devices and one PATA interface, a single Gigabit Ethernet (nV GbE) and most importantly - eight-channel RealTek ALC882D High-Definition Audio chip.
