ok i like (or love to play BF3) and am getting a new video card sold my gigabyte 6870 so is some i could get

the frozr is rather quite and cool. but if your case can't breathe, any card will stay ramped up.

so to "muddy" the water so to speak, make sure the case is moving air as well. i've had three

clients swap a card out, only to find the case was not allowing the air to travel and exhaust

properly. and they were just chewing on hot air. too much positive case pressure. the air

was stagnate and not exhausting well enough.

at that resolution playing BF3 maxed out you'll be fine on a GTX 580 easily cap 60 fps in all circumstances, I'm a Nvidia, so no idea how there cards perform.

Not easily, the core can but the 1.5gb vRAM cant. My 6990 got to 1.7gb a few times.
 
I agree with the 7950. If you overclock it the performance compared to a 7970/680 overclocked is very close but you save the best part of $100.

The 1.5gb on the 580 is too small now imo.
