Am i getting the best for my 2400 AUD?

ahh kk, i was up until 5am trying find out whether the 670s were better or not but couldnt find much, Then my mum Raged at my brother at 8am so its now 9 AM and i have 2 more days to figure out what i want.

With the computer i can get a g110 or steelseries 6Gv2 and with the g110 i can get the 23" monitor and the XFX 850W XXX edition semi modular power supply and everything else for only 2398$ :D and hopefully the ple workers add in both never settle bonus codes ;) then i can chuck the games on my desktop and laptop which my brother is going to use.
i might have to email them if they would include all 6 codes. And i am running my 6870M radeon mobile chip on 12.11 and this chip has a much higher framerate than it did before. but for somereason i have always been plagued with 12.10 driver issues so i had to go to .11 beta 8

Also if i drop the logitech i free up 30$ for a better cpu cooler, should i? or should i keep with the G110 or Deathstalker?

My dad just bought Windows 7 or 8 from the store and has it in an email :( how am i gonna do this with no internet?

What can you get for an extra 30$ towards the cpu cooler?
Get the code now and write it down, let NO ONE else use it otherwise you cant.
 
i dont know the email, my dad is doing his Gulf tour and i have no idea which OS it is :(
Hopefully it isnt windows 7 home premium cause i would like my 16gb ram haha
with the OS downlaod and the games downlaod it will use next months internet aswell
 
They sent you the product key, just download W7 starter then use the prduct key to upgrade or download an iso file from microsoft on a usb stick(8gb is fine) then when you build your computer enter the bios and tell it to boot from the usb stick and then follow the iinstructions. Home premium caps the ram at 16gb and won't let you go higher.

Find out the email asap :P
 
haha :) i cant find any reviews about the XFX 7950 black edition when compared to the gtx 670 reference but i found one for another but it was a different card with 12.11 drivers whereas the XFX reviews where early-late january last year :(
it seems the 670 comes out ahead on some games but not on others and the 7950 can definatly OC quite a bit and it seems i just have to drag a slider up and then get MSI afterburner or something right?

Ive also asked for a quote from PLE for 2 MSI Twin frozr 7950 so i can compare prices and also a quote on the MSI GD65 as i can get them custom ordered for the build

if i can get a good price i will look into it but its extremely close with the 7950 HIS X2 and the gtx 670
The MSI 7950 twin frozr averages 43 fps on battlefield 3 but with the reference 670 averaging 55 frames
I can afford either one and want the best performance possible but i dont have any past experience with either of these cards

The 7950 gets far more than 43fps, and the 670 i know gets over 60fps, unless the benchmark has some heavy anti aliasing. 7950 is faster just like always some games perfer nvidia or amd so those games are not very vaild to compare because they are unreliable. If you play nvidia based games then get it if not then the overall better choice is 7950. The Twin Frozr is an amazing card and if you can get that GD65, then you basicallly got the next best board under an Mpower!
 
Yeah :D i can also get an mpower for 259$ not sure how much i would have to sacrifice for it though
if i can get a good 7950 CFX for around 350 i should be able to get the mpower

Only get the mpower if you plan on overclocking pretty high because if its a 4.5ghz OC then almost any decent board can get you that stable,and also only if its cheaper than the MVF in your location.

BTW are you doing a build log? I would love to see how it all turns out! :)
 
Yet another dissapointing message from PLE, no Mpowers :( and the 23" screen was raised up 20$ :( so it will have to be UP4 TH and a 21.5 screen or a MVF and Matrix card, still cant bloody choose :( and its getting on my nerves

In multi player, it will be consistently lower, around 40-60fps.

With an OC, you will see gains however.


I do not understand why people are bigging up the 7950 so much, when these are hard written results on 12.11 drivers.

Also, Nvidia launched drivers that gave around 16% faster frames in BF3, there was no review for this however...

So results will be different.

Performance Improvements
In October's GeForce 310.33 beta driver we improved performance by up to 15% in nine games, and this time we’re improving performance by up to 37% in twenty-one games. Leading the charge in 310.70 is a 37% boost for Far Cry 3, followed by a 26% boost for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, an 18% boost for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, a 17% boost for Assassin’s Creed III, and a 12% boost for Battlefield 3.

Please note that performance improvements benefit all GeForce GTX graphics cards, though obviously to varying degrees. We would of course love to show how our optimizations benefit the entire range of GeForce GTX GPUs, but sadly this is unfeasible given the number of benchmarks required. For example, for each GPU and game you test include a before and after benchmark to show the level of improvement, then multiply the number of tests by the number of resolutions, three, and then again by the number of different detail levels and anti-aliasing modes tested. Then, finally, to verify the results, run everything again to ensure there were no anomalies. With so many GPUs in our lineup, even focusing exclusively on the most popular models would prove impossible in the time between a driver being finalized, and released.

Performance Improvement Benchmarks
In Far Cry 3, we maxed out the game's many graphics options, selected SSAO Ambient Occlusion (an excellent balance between performance and fidelity), set the game's version of Transparency Supersampling to "Standard", and enabled 8xMSAA to eliminate aliased edges.

Last but not least, 310.70 includes several fixes for commonly reported issues:

Assassin’s Creed 3: Shadow flickering resolved.
Battlefield 3: The game should no longer crash to desktop with the message “bf3.exe stopped working” on GeForce 500 and 600 series GPUs.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2: “Driver not responding” error should no longer occur on the GeForce GTX 570 and GTX 580 during the second half of the first level of the game, when the helicopter is shot by a rocket.
Hitman: Absolution: “Driver Not Responding” error should no longer occur when playing the game on a GeForce GTX 650 Ti with Global Illumination and Tessellation enabled.
Final Fantasy XIV Online: "DirectX device was lost" crash should no longer occur on GeForce GTX 680 systems.

Sorry guys, but i do like a none biased approach, when someone asks about 2 vendors.
 
no need to be sorry :D, the only thing i dont like about my 670 option is that it is completely reference no aftermarket cooler or anythingbut the SLI results are nice im just scared the temps will skyrocket and the fact of the voltage lock. other than that i would buy it :) what are your thoughts on PhysX, i havent used it in years xD so i have no reccolection. is it worth the extra 80$? because the one thing people say when you say i have an AMD is, "you dont have physX" or they play the driver problems card :D

I havent had many problems with my 6870M card, mostly greybars from overheating ( i think)

That graph makes my decision alot harder, i dont want to be near that pesky 660TI haha

PhysX gives added eye candy in games that support it, and can make them more immersive.

We 'big up' the 7950 so much because you can get one for under £200, when the lower performing nvidia equivalent 660ti is around £30 more expensive.

Also, the results you put up show a 7FPS difference between a 7950 and 670 (excluding nvidia driver updates) for around £100 difference, and a similar story to the 7950.

I love my 670(s), and for me it's a great card considering how quiet, and how low the power consumption is - but I don't think the minor performance increase and potential benefits of PhysX is worth the extra £100 over the 7950.

The only single cards i would like are the:
Matrix 7970 platinum: 599$
gtx 680 cu II 4gb: 689$
680 cu ii top 679$
The evga classified 4gb is 800$
in some benchmarks the 7970 platinum beats the 680 TOP by 2-3 fps and as your can see the savings are quite remarkable :)
The highest i can go for a dual card setup is 399$ per card!
in your opinions what would be the best choice Dual cards or single cards
please list the cards of your choice :D i have one day left now :(

not sure whether to pull the trigger on 2 AFOX cards as they are practicaly an unknown brand with not many reviews and they have stock cooling.

im also still wonderign about getting 2 blue or green coolermaster sickleflow fans for the dual 120mm front mounting slot for the styker or putting them at the bottom 2x120mm slot to light up the case if the LEDs are good enough.

and possibly swapping out the exhaust fan for something a bit better.

I apologise in for this thread getting as long as it has :)
