Alternative CPU cooling (not Freezer 64Pro)

Are there any other CPU HSF that will cool an Athlon much better than the Freezer 64pro.

I have been using this for a couple of months and it seems good although idle is around 40oC and load can vary from 47-48oC (usually) can has reached 51-52oC.

The reviews and user comments seem to indicate this can idle below 30 and usually load is around 40 sometimes going up to 45.

Before this I used a Thermaltake Silent Boost K8 HSF (A1838).

Your going too need a big case:

The scythe Infinity and Ninja Plus, Tuniq Tower or the TT Big typhoon.

Prob some others too

Have you changed your thermal paste? Collabortory did wonders for me. Arctic Silver 5 is also very good.

I think Scythe make some good performace HS' but they are expensive.

Edit: Damn u Ham getting in there b4 me lol

No, I'm using the paste that came on the fan (MX-1 i believe) my brother told me it's suppose to be better than the Arctic silver 5 which I was looking for and was gonna use (lost the tube somewhere)

I'll look into the other options, thanks guys.

Mwhahaha!

Yeah MX-1 is supposed too be better. ST have the scythe infinity for £28. And with a few more posts you get free shipping.

I used and still use a Thermaltake Silent Tower. Thing was awesome on my XP and i couldnt even hear it be on. But i like Sythe products too.

That reminds me accually, i am going to hook up my cele and put toothpaste on it and see what temps are like :)
