Almost ready 4 one last 3dmark/pcmark run!

Well it's true to say that I have been an idiot over the past few weeks.

Through sheer bad luck, water leaks and total stupidity I have been without my volt modded beauties (7800GTX's) for a month now....... I can see the light though now.

Warlord shigs has helped me to no end in getting the latest volt modded units up and running.

One was delivered today, the 2nd unit will hopefully be back in my system this Saturday and that sets me up for one last assault on the benchies.

Currently top 10 in PCMark05 and 04, I am hoping now with dual core action and 7800GTX SLI, I can up the position, if I break top 5, I will be more than pleased.

Then I got to squeeze a bit more out of 3dmarks for the team - this is double benchmark for me though, one set with 4800 X2 @ 261*12 (using 80 series drivers and offiicial) and one for the Trusty FX55 SD @ 272*13 using only official drivers.

I am going to be extra careful not to blow anything up this time though (fingers crossed).

For the team, I hope I can improve in all of them.

TEAM EPUK 4EVA!!

Nice man and good luck ! Get into the top 5 before crossfire is released, because then i feel that however hard you try you will not be able to match them :( But yet again i wish my good lucks :) and keep us updated.

Team EPUK ftw !

Mav just want to know what NVIDIA drivers are you using to get the 05 scores you have using the dual core X2 4800 rig?

Also who can take out the IHS for the X2 4800+ like you have to get better OC's. I know that this will invalidate the warranty from AMD...but who could do this? I am a little weary about doing this as i want to make sure i have good contact with the cpu head before doing something like this.!!

Finally how do i get my 7800 GTX's volt moded and what improvement does this give to overclocking the graphic card?

shigy's onn the forum does all that kinda stuff with teh ihs and volt modding for a small price i think is about £25 to £30 for volt modding not sure about ihs, volt modding allows higher clocks on the core and memory and depending on ypour cooling is very effective

Warlord Shigs is the full EPUK nickname of the guy you want to see for all things IHS and volt mods.

Also if you are using a mach cooler you need to introduce a copper shim (2mm thickness) cut to the dimensions of the cooling head to ensure proper contact and excellent heat dissipation.

Your 7800's need to be watercooled to achieve a 600mhz plus overclock using the volt mods Shigsy can perform - although if you leave the adjuster at 1.55v you should be able to reach 570mhz without creating too much heat (for benching purposes not 24/7 on air though).

I use the 7772 drivers to ensure hall of fame entry (these are FM approved) but will try the duallie optimised 80 series too for mbot (EPUK 3DTEAM).

Hope this helps.

Cheers
