Alleged RX 480 benchmark scores appear online

Could also be the 1060?
Although if is indeed the 480, I think comparing to an AMD GPU is a better overall comparison since the synthetic benchmarks perform better on Nvidia. But in games despite being better they end up being equal. So comparing to say a Fury X would give you an idea of how it should perform better than a 980:)

Hopefully that makes sense.. Only slept for like 3 hours:p

Shame 3DMARK 11 P score is CPU limited. makes comparing to other data weird.

It is using AMD drivers, just follow the source link. Isn't an Nvidia GPU.

does the date seem right to ppl?

just ran a quick test.. my overclocked 780:
Graphics Score
14654
(i5 2500k "only running at 4ghz right now due to using the hd gfx for encoding)

which is 3400 or so less than the leaked bench mark..
which would make the 480 quite a lot faster than a 970. which im not sure it will be.. was expecting 780ti performance lvls from it (just a bit better than a 970) but that would be a LOT better than a 970.. Not entirely sure its a real bench, but hope it is. would really be a game changer of it is.

A 1060?? I think not.

im confused at how 3d mark socres..
My gpu scores ~3400 less than the 1 in the article.. (not expected)
my cpu scores ~3400 less than the 1 n the article.. (was expected)
But my overall score is only ~3200 less than the 1 in the article.. (so how is that worked out)

Actually nvm my cpu scored better than i 1st thought.. so it makes sense now.

3DMark Score
11272
Graphics Score
14654
Physics Score
6481
Combined Score
6952

Vs

3DMark Score
14461
Graphics Score
18060
Physics Score
9109
Combined Score
8966

p.s

do we have a link to the result page on fmark web page or only screen shots of it?

Don't need to be told twice.. got the memo last post. Wasn't in the article, so didn't see it. Don't usually go to the source as Mark more often than not summarizes well enough to not need to.
Don't take it personally fella, just pointing out the deats. You should be happy AMD have what as far as I can see a promising GPU.

I think promising could be a little understated if this benchmark is real. The Nitro Fury is just a tad slower than a Fury X, by about 3% in most cases.

That kind of performance, at $199.99 or an 8GB version for around $250.00

If Vega has this kind of surprise up their sleeve...........

Nah wasn't personal dude. But it was pointed out 3 times so think people got it by then:p
I'm probably selling my FX to get the 480? It has impressed me enough. I'll probably be side grading at best or slightly lower performance, but worth it and will hold me over till Vega. So worth it to me:)
There are rumors it can best a 980ti. If it can do that at $200 that's insane value and makes you wonder how much performance you can get for less money with a 470 etc

im still going to be expecting 780ti performance with less oc head room.. But im really looking forward for some real bench marks to prove me wrong. i soo want to be wrong.

To be honest, I was actually expecting the card to perform a bit better than a GTX 980. After all a heavily OC'd TX is lelved with dual 980s. OFC the TX would need to be able to OC well in the first place.

Either way the 1080 is pretty much OC'd TX/980ti performance. Given that the dual 480 setup could do what it did against the 1080 (albeit in DX12 and Ashes), it would be more or less logical that it would be ~980 performance. Just above cause maybe AMD wants to look a bit better.

I have this weird memory that AMD was targeting the 980 with the 480 . Could be wrong.

I disagree. 780ti is basically 970 performance(little slower actually). I'd expect no less than a Fury Nano at worst, more or less equal to a 980, and at best between a FX and a 980ti. Don't really see the Fury line being relevant anymore.

Do you think they'll keep the Fury name for Vega?
There has been a lot of Fury in the last couple of years, AMD, Fury (the Movie), Mad Max Fury Road, Kingston Fury memory.

:D That logic.

Well you never know, there could be 2 Vega variants and one for the possible 390/390x range and one for the Vury and Vury MAX. Really interested in how they will approach the Fury naming if they keep it, nVidia only has one Titan and the other the ti.

My R9 390 just open and run on 3dmark scores 11,146, stock gpu clocks and 5820k clocked at 3.8Ghz, so it doesn't seem like a huge step up, but at 100 watts less TDP the improvement in both case, and gpu temps should be pretty noticeable.

I hope they pick a better name. Fury kinda sounds childish. Something that pertains to the Star it's named after would be more interesting.

I don't know why they had to move away from the old naming scheme, was it just to have something like a Titan? But yea, those kind of names fall in the same category as overloading things with LEDs and making the edgiest exterior possible for PC parts and peripherals. It's a PC component, not a retired Transformer, how about not treating the entire customer base like children.
