Any confirmation on what version of w10 would we get with the free upgrade from w7/8?

for example if you had a windows 7 hope premium, would you get w10 home? w8.1pro = w10 pro?

Too messy. 3 versions at most. Standard, Enterprise and a scaled down for tablet / phones should be enough. Or just make it all 'Standard' with optional downloads.

Its pretty traditional to have more options then that.

Windows 7 for example had:

Starter
Home Basic
Home Premium
Professional
Ultimate
Enterprise

That is excluding all the funky versions for things like ATMs, windows phone, SOC stuff and server 2008 R2.

Don't ATM's still use XP though? I'm sure when they f up its XP that we see. Maybe thats just England.

The OS ATMs used is basically a very closed off version of XP (although you can get a version that is based on 7 I think). Its very secure. Not unhackable (then again nothing is unhackable, despite what certain idiots believe) but a good deal more secure than your average POS terminal.

OSX is awful for certain things. I have to use the Terminal if I want to turn certain features off, which is a bit annoying.
