So I've heard issues with many of these that after a while the pump becomes just really loud. Like loud how it wasn't when they got it? Can anyone confirm if it is true that this happens with a lot of them or not?

would kinda sound like something is running along one of the fan blades in your case. a grinding,
clicking or crunching noise. i personally have three and have installed a dozen H100 and 8 H80
and others with four (H60/80 growling noise and faulty pump/controller H70/100) making a grumbling
noise. simple RMA fixed all issues. the newest batch of RMA from july 23, 2012 of H100 were a new
improved model to replace nosiey pump/controllers. ideally, this is the best package for a new
user or enthusiast. easy on the budget and simple start to water-cooling. especailly if coming
from air cooling and if an RMA is needed, step back into air until the unit is replaced. it's computers
a crap shoot at best that there will be no errors or issues.

mine makes a little grinding noise every so often, but it is not a really crunchy grind. Sounds more like a little air bubble. I am not to worried about it. been running great for almost a year now.

For people having this problem make sure to test the H100 outside of the rig to confirm the noise issue with the pump, otherwise it could be coil whine from your motherboard (although it's highly unlikely).

I have had no problems with my own H100.

My Antec Kuhler 620 was the same...every now and again it sounded a little grindy - almost like grit had got in it - but it's just air bubbles and a quick tap / shake of the case sorted it.

Seems that many of these closed-loop coolers have the same issue to some degree. They're sealed, but there's still some air in the loop and the location of the pump means it will sometimes get some air in it. I'd not worry unless your cooling appeared to be suffering or a quick tap / shake of the case didn't fix it.

Scoob.
