Hey. I'm completely new to PC gaming and I've just built it and tested it today. I'm looking at a 360mm 280mm and a 280mm Rad. No matter which one I decide to get I will be putting on the corsair LL RGB fans. So I can have lighting to play with when I get bored. Anyway I have the maximus x and the i7 8700k. I've not touched overclocking and if I do it will probably be 4Ghz just so I can say I've done it. So here are my questions.

1. Will it be OK to swap out all the fans to the Corsair LL series. If not why.

2. Which is the better CPU cooler to keep the 1151 i7 8700k cool. 360mm 280mm and 240mm Rad. As I've not 100 percent decided which size I'm getting.

Hope you can help as I'm now going in circles and different people say different things. This is why I asked for the specific cpu.

Most radiators will support standard fan sizes, so switching the units fans will not be a problem, provided you buy fans with the correct sizes.

Typically larger, thicker radiators are better, though I would advise you to look at some recent reviews that compare units. Provided you don't go crazy with the volts a good 240mm AIO will be more than enough. Larger units typically allow you to let the fans to run slower (make the system quieter).

Depending on what you mean by larger. When it comes to radiators Watt dissipation is increased far more when you increase surface area, not rad thickness. So a 360 is better than a thick 240.

Thing is, for a CPU only 360 is a little overkill even with overclocking. So a 240 would be more than adequate for you. A stock GPU and CPU can be comfortable handled by 1 360 radiator if you have a pump with good PSI/headpressure and minimal fittings or rotaries.

As for Fans, any standard dimension 120x120mm fan will work as WYP states above so you can pick the best performing, or best visually looking fans you want.
