i checked 2 shop yesterday, looking at the new Ati GFX cards.

at first, i saw a price between £260 - £290

that was before they showed stock in hand

now, today i check again, price has bumped up by £10 more

and quite honestly, i really dont know why they are playing ping pong prices, its REALLY annoying!

anyway, back to what i was gonna say.

i'll give this option out for ALL at OC3D, i have £300 to spend, and i NEED a new GFX card.

the other thread i created, asking the same, almost everyone points me to 8800GTS640, but i waited....cause ST/WCUK didnt have any stock of EK GTS BLOCKS!!!!GRRRRR

but.....this time i wont be so stupid in trying to wait for both....

so, should i go RED?

or, go GREEN?

i cant be bothered with all these 16AA or whatnot results.....its too new, so im in for a gamble!

once the results is done, trust me, i'll grab em quicker then you can say the 14digis on your card!

tbh NV will probs give u better performance -- by a few frames (but ATi driver maturity could change that)

but id go red because .. these cards will both stop performing adequately around the same time and there is a better chance of a F@H client for the ATi sets

Go green! Go

I was having this conversation with someone earlier.

The problem with waiting for price drops is then you catch wind that another one is going to happen, hence you never get anything done 'cause you are always waiting for the price drop.

8 months I've been building this new system and I still don't have a CPU, or Motherboard or GPU because I keep waiting for price drops, then waiting again for price drops, then again, then again.... :D

But I'd always go Green :D

that sounds like me!

this is whats going on with my system....

bought the following:

Jan - Lian Li A10B case

Feb(21st) - Asus Commando, C2D 6300

March - OCZ 2x1GB ram, Enermax 720w PSU

April - WC build parts....hose, res....

its now May, i asked you guys about GFX card in April, but forgot who said wait a couple more weeks and see if 2900 is anygood......i did! and its showing to be a bit slower than 8800GTS!

i blame myself for not getting a 8800 and the EK FC block when ST had them in stock.....i blame myself for buying things too early with original price.....i blame myself for waiting too long.....

if i had hold back, and orderd everything 3weeks ago, i'll have a new build already!!!!!!!!!

AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

side note, due to popular demand, i will be going GREEN! if its not with me by Friday, latest should be monday....

AydST - you have PM

I'd go red, the drivers all the reviewers use are still new/beta!

Give ATI a couple driver releases, and it will be smooth
