Worms Armageddon is one of the first games I ever played on the PC. My PC was very weak at the time so it was also one of few games that I could run. And I played the crap out of it. It's such a wonderful game.
A couple of months ago I found an old notebook with all the names of the teams and worms that I used to play with as a kid. Naturally, I saved it in Excel. I'm not at home right now so I don't have access to that file. But if you'd like, I could post those names as soon as I'm able. Maybe you'll recognise some of those worms. The teams were basically randomly generated, but they meant a lot to me as a kid.
Now im showing my age. I played the very original worms every day on Amiga back in 1995.
And also had to do the counting of 1,2,5 when throwing thy holy hand grenade.
HAAAA LE LU JAH *BOOOOOOOOOM*
Yeah I actually forgot what a fantastic game it is tbh.
Packing in a banana bomb is absolutely devastatingAnd playing it with three mates and getting close to fist fights over the back stabbing and arse licking. "No, attack him because etc" Oh god so funny dude.
I love the voices. The Scottish ones and welsh ones are hilarious but there's still nothing funnier than when you use the stock voice and do the fire punch. "Ar yar ken !"
Just genius.
My friend and I.. back in the day where 2 players played on the same screen, must have spent 3 hours just naming our team. Laughing hysterically all the way. I still remember mine
Mr Mooky
Sir Siegfried von Jockstrap
Cuthbert
Ohforfacksake
and... Jizm jules.
Yeah gimme a break I was a kid. We cried laughing how good this game was. Even my dad enjoyed it.
My introduction to it was actually on the PSX. 95? or possibly as late as 96. I couldn't afford any games or consoles then (bad times) but my cousin rented a PSX from Blockbuster video and invited us round. He had the Saturn a couple of weeks before. Any way, we all went down to BBV to pick a game out and Worms said 4 players. None of us had ever heard of it, and we all thought it was going to be utterly stupid.
We stayed over the whole weekend. All of us, drunk AF laughing hysterically.
A couple of weeks later I got my buddy with a PSX to buy it and we played it for about 40 hours with no sleep. Like I said, when you stab some one in the back you have to live with it because they were sitting in the same room as you
Yeah just hilarious, and awesome memories. I played Armageddon on my N64. I had a Dr V64 for it so I never had to pay for games.
Actually I think my favourite weapon was the old woman. The sheep one came close, but the old woman moans and complains as she walks along. Just used to make me cry with laughter.
Two words....
MAD COW
many hardware fans of the series still enjoy this classic
