is it advisible to leave your computer on 24/7, alot of people have told me that it can lead to corroded cpu circuits?

Those people are smoking something strange. I've had a server on 24/7 for 3 years in the past - the only time i turned it off was to sell it!

Its fine to leave ur rig on.

The only negative effects i can think of are:

Shortened life of Hard Disks

Shortened life of Fans

(Basically anything that moves)

Mechanical parts will wear faster as Jim stated. But it's actually advisable to leave your system on all the time, as startup is the most critically straining time of system status and wears your computer parts the fastest.

So in conclusion: leaving compy on all the time > not.

My sisters 667 Celeron rig just died, it was on for like 5 months straight folding. I think that killed it. I'm not foldin much no more.

It was the mobo tho, I'm pretty sure...

My PC's are on 24/7.

Ive lost 2 harddisks in the last year or so, both times was when i had turned my pc off while on holidays.

Im scared to turn them off ever again :)
