Hi guys
a friend of mine wants to build a pc. he'll use it for gaming( crysis, gta, BF3, etc) also for photoshop and alot of music production.
he's got a budget of absolute maximum 2 grand, but he needs everything...
mouse, keyboard, OS, monitor/s, the works.
he knows he wants the cm storm trooper and a red and black theme.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

Check out my build, the last post with specs --> http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=45928&page=2

I've changed a couple tiny things before ordering and am still waiting for my screen, cause Scan screwed me over a bit and turned out they have no stock and they're past the expected date now... But anyway it ended up ~2.2k pounds, so you can change a few things, the motherboard for example is an overkill (I just wanted it), the GPU and CPU maybe and it ends up around 2k depending on where you buy your stuff.

Good luck!

its scary how ur build is almost identical to what i had in mind. only differences being i was thinking rampage 4 extreme (3930k) and sapphire 7970.
the main thing im concerned about is because he needs to get OS mouse keyboard... is that he'll have to compromise on quite a few of the components...

my offering

3770k
MSI Z77A GD65
8GB or 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz
GTX 670
Corsair AX650

The rest I would say is personal choice

would the 650 be enough? is that fully modular or is it only the more powerful ax series that are?

650 is enough for 2 670s and that CPU. AX series starts at 650 up to 850 for seasonics and then has a 1200 made my someone else. Have a look and see what price the 750 is it might only be a 10% more, which in that case it would be worth investing in.

Thats what i wanted to hear :) now i know that corsair do the white braided cables... but do you know if they do or are planning on doing a red version?

which would make sense actually because if you've got a 1200w psu then generally ull be powering alot more components...

No - he means the modular connections that go into the back of the power supply will be different...

ie - the braided kit for the AX1200 may not fit into the AX650.
