Just considering options at this point, please assume priority is having fun, with 24/7 OC @ very low noise as a close second.

  1. any idea if a 240x120x54 rad with fans on one side is likely to be much more efficient than a khuler 920 push/pull ?
  2. if i end up just watercooling the cpu, am i better off trying to fit in a 30mm thick rad with push/pull or a 54mm rad with fans on one side ?
  3. if i was to watercool 2 x 6970 and a 2500k is 2 x 240x120x54 rads enough ?
  4. if that is enough rad, are there any real benefits to splitting to 2 loops ?

Thank you for your time and please excuse my noobness

1 : of course a 240 rad will outperform a 920 even in push/pull since you got 2x the rad surface and your rad is much thikker than the 920 .

2 : if your aiming at as less noise as possible i would go with the 54 mm setup . ( ithink 2 fans @ 1000 rpm make less noise then 4 fans @ 800

)

3 : 2x240 might do it but dont expect amazing temps and prepare to crank up your fans , since you aim for silence you will need more rad surface to achieve your objective .

4: i would run your setup in just 1 loop ( much tidier , less tubing )

Just my point of view , but wait for more advise , i may be wrong on some points !

Cheers !

EDIT : i think im wrong , 4 fans @ low rpm may make less noise then 2 @ mid range speeds .
