advice on Newegg's warranty plans

I hope this is a good place to post this.
This is for anyone that has dealt with Newegg.
I have a selection of things to build a computer in my cart on newegg's site.
The only thing I'm really worried about is my motherboard.
Is their " replacement extended warranty " and their " replacement with accidental damage service plan " worth the extra money ?
Or should I just deal with the manufacturer if there is a problem with it?

Any advice from someone that has purchased these plans is appreciated.

Thanks

Moved to Serious Discussion as, er...well, it seemed the best place for it. The Suggestions forum is only for suggestions for this site.

P.S. I think you should deal with the manufacturer. Don't buy into the extra stuff, it's rarely ever an issue.

I never buy the extra warranties. I always deal with the manufacturers when something goes wrong. If you buy parts from manufacturers with good support you should have nothing to worry about.

The only thing to note is the Newegg replacement plan may have a faster turnaround time. You should also check if they cover shipping charges both ways as manufacturers usually do not.

Sorry I posted in the wrong place and thank you for moving the post.
Thank you for the reply hmmblah .
Yeah I'm pretty sure Newegg doesn't cover shipping for returns , that's one reason I'm kind of leery about ordering from them.
I was had once and had to pay $75 ( shipping & restocking fee ) to return a $150 item that had been opened and resent ( I wasn't the first person to receive the item ). It was sent from Tenn. to Florida and to return it I had to send it to California.

Normally they don't cover shipping for returns/exchanges. Any time I've had to ship anything to them though I get on live chat and get them to send me a prepaid label.

I was just wondering if the extra warranties covered anything like that.

warranty limitations are usually upto the end-user. the "seller" is usually shielded
unless there is a rider (more money) to cover back-n-forth. and @ 10%, usually
not covered. kinda like road hazard on tires, 90% will not need it, the 10% that
do, usually eats only 30% of the profit made from the warranty sales. neat lil
scam.

Thanks for the info hmmblah,
After reading more on their website on this , if you pay the extra money they will cover shipping after you jump though all their hoops ( 3 attempts of onsite repair and then they subtract the amount of the service calls to repair and refund whats left ). I'm not sure it's worth all that , don't think I will mess with it.
I think Monday I will place my order and hope everything goes ok , fingers crossed.
