Advice on a smaller case

Hey Guys I have a bit of a Dilema

I've spent quite some time with my computer over the past few years, slowly upgrading it, switching to a new case, customising etc, some of you may have even seen my Rig gallery or project logs in the past, images missing now though. But now i have a decision to thing about over the next 6 months or so.

I'm going to be moving out of my home and in with my Fiancé who still lives with her Family so there is a bit of a problem with space. Now I really don't want to part with my computer because of all the time, money and effort I've put in to it, It's my main hobby, and I dont mean playing on it, I mean building it, tweaking / customising it. I haven't really used it that much since meeting my Fiancé but It's not something i'm willing to part with very easily, after all I've done with it and how much it means to me, From my first every build ive upgraded it.

Anyway it runs an Asus Rampage II Extreme ATX Mobo fitted with a BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro Cooler, 12GB Ram, 1000w ATX PSU, 3 standard HDDs and a Standard DVD RW.

All of this is inside a Coolermaster HAF X full Tower

An option I'm thinking of is downsizing it into a smaller case, perhaps a Mid tower or smaller if possible? Which is where advice is needed, I'm not that great when it comes to cases and was wondering what people would recommend? I already plan to Downsize to a Smaller PSU and maybe switch to Solid State Drive with a Single 1TB drive for storage, The cooler probably would have to stay the same unless theres a good smaller one anyone knows of. So does anyone have any suggestions of cases I could move into? It'd be very helpful.

If not my last option might have to be to sell it and use the money for a gaming laptop or a console, god knows, Last resort anyway.

Thanks in advance

Jaz

You can't go smaller than a mid tower with an ATX board. The Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 is pretty compact for an ATX case. It's only 20mm higher than the Corsair 350D, which is a (bit larger than average tbh) micro-ATX case. It's also really good for air and water cooling.

Ah it also looks pretty nice as well xD Thanks for the response I'll have a look into this

Id look at the Fractal R4 or even the Nanoxia DS1 (windowed version) both of those are compact for an ATX case but can still be quiet and give good cooling if you know what to do and will be MUCH better with dust than the colander you currently call a case :D

Yeah that's one thing I don't like about my HAF X, even with dust filters it's a dust magnet, and a heavy one at that. Thanks for the Input Tom, I now have three to decide on, I quite like the look of the Nanoxia DS1 but from What I've seen the R4 is a pretty good pick

Fractal R4 or Arc Midi R2 would be my recommendations. Personally own a R4 and as much as i love it i want the Arc because it's more versatile of a case.

I might for the the Arc Midi R2 because of costs, but the R4 with the windowed side panel looks nice haha!

I think you need to edit that post... You're saying the R4 has a non-window version which you perfer compared to the non-window version... Lol

I finally got round to getting a new case, had to make a quick decision really so I went for the Fractal Design R4 windowed edition. It arrived on saturday so im currently half way through moving into it, its a little wider than I expected but cant complain. Ill probably update my rig gallery when im done
