Acer Predator XR341CK 34" Curved G-sync Screen

Well, 3DJF, G-Sync is a technique that dramatically lowers tearing. It is for people who want to play at certain resolutions, with graphics cards which might be bit limited.

In fact, usefulness of G-Sync is only between 40ish Hz and 60Hz. Anything above just means your graphics card is powerful enough to not need G-Sync. And 60 Hz is ample sufficient for 99% of the gamers (input lag is the biggest problem on most screens for players).

Now, I still hope it is a VA panel, without bleeding. Even if it is "only" 75 Hz.

Imho, contrast, low input lag, no bleeding, and the 21:9 goodness are what qualifies for a good gaming curved screen.

never did quite see the attraction of gsynk/free synk as far as i can tell all it really is is a monitor that changes its refresh rate to match your game settings (or what you are able to manage)

what i do however like is low response times. I had been contemplating jut buying a 40 or so inch curved tv and using it as a monitor, but response times put me off doing so.

I am glad to see a curved large monitor "the larger the better IMO"
i cant stand the besils when running with multiple monitors. Its like having a HUGE line of dead pixels.. i simply cannot stand it. So i always prefer one larger monitor.
having it curved is perfect for me as i can change the FOV for my games (like assetto corsa for instance) And because it is curved it will work better for my periferal vision.

Im not that fussed about 100+ hz or 4k resolutions.
all i want is a big ass 40ish inch low responce time curved monitor that can do at least 1080p @ 60hz
everything else is just a bonus.

You need to see it to understand the benefits. You got everything backwards. Curved/4k is a bonus/marketing gimmick. gsync/freesync is a need.

Curved monitors won't solve the "dead pixels" due to "bezels". Have you even seen one in person? I have and it won't make much a difference because they aren't nearly the same length as 3x24" monitors side by side and the curve would be so subtle to do that it would uber expensive and pointless. Curves are already subtle.. lengthing them won't do any good

You won't find big ass 40" curved monitors with a low reponse time. Why? well monitors aren't made in 40" and no one in their right mind would be one when you sit 2 feet from it in the first place. Get the Dell 34" curved monitor. That's really the biggest and fastest it will be for quite some time.

Sorry but i would disagree in the strongest terms with the 75hz is good enough. The gysnc can make up for frame stutters and drops but the rock solid picture of a 100hz monitor is by far and away the biggest pull for me. I have a 85Hz monitor at work, i can stare at it all day and never get fatigue, the instant response feeling from that refresh makes it a jopy to look at. My LG 21:9 monitor is lovely , don't get me wrong, but sat next to high refresh rate monitor it's VERY noticeable. that added to the $1000+ price point and my last post stands, for the price it SHOULD be what i expected it to be otherwise it's in the same pit as other adaptive sync monitors but at a lower refresh cap and almost twice the price.
I was also amazed by the tftcentral article which started off making excuses for it along the lines of "144hz isn't possible on IPS panel this size", BULLSHIT a 30% increase in pixels for an almost 50% drop in refresh.
My 980 pushes my 21:9 3440x1440 at well over 100fps in all the games i play (some older ones to 200fps+) the gysnc would have been nice but the refresh rate is the big one i was waiting for.
Back in the day (showing my age here) i ran quake on a sony 21" at 115Hz I have been waiting for LED screens to catch up ever since.

Mate, you need to remember that 3440x1440 is a relatively new format. We are only starting to see 2560x1440 IPS screens with refresh rates of 144Hz at stock.
Cut the monitor makers some slack mate, it takes a tonne of time to develop things like this.

working on some stuff a bit late here i decided to have a look at the forum and this article.
After seeing the monitor from all angles i dont think it would suit my needs either "if i could afford it" it really does not seem to curve arround far enough to make the curve actually have a reason to exist. "although i may need to see one in reall life and it could just be the pictures make it look less impressive)
it seems the ONLY things that are large enough and curve far enough are tv's "i saw one in pcworld a while back and i really liked the size and how far it curved. But having to have a tv for a monitor really annoys me. i have a 52" professional plasma monitor on my wall as my tv (built a c2d sff pc with a hd 6 seriese half height card for i player streaming and stuff like that.)
Granted it wont manage 1080p. being 1280 x 720 or 1280 x 768 native (i forget which) @75hz
But its more than enough for tv as i dont watch tv any way.

So i find it a bit annoying that i have to have a monitor for a tv. "because it was actually cheaper than the same sized tv"
and with the current state of things if i want a 40+" curved monitor that will do 1080p @ 60hz I have to have a tv.. "its mind boggling lol" response times on tv's need to drop. or monitors need to catch up or something.
