If they severely under cut Asus with their £700 offering this will go out of stock very quickly.

The £700 price tag of the Swift has been the only thing stopping me, I could afford to get it but I could never justify the price to myself.

I can't see it being a serious undercut for practically the same thing, I guess it could be £20-50 cheaper because it has no ROG factor. I don't like how they have imitated the base lighting but then made it look fat and old, if it was just understated but still with some nice materials then they could have poked it a slightly different audience. Who are they aiming for? wealthy gamers who like to upgrade with a £2k+ rig capable of smashing 1440p who like ROG but just don't quite have a few extra moneyz to buy the Swift.

If it is genuinely cheap retailers will respond by adjusting the Swift's pricing so it's good there is some competition emerging. Hopefully they sat down and thought hard and managed to make it slightly better than the Swift, I guess if the base was RGB lit and some other innovative thing it looks like they haven't bothered with, maybe a different glare coating or UI thing... Yeah better hope it's cheap.

i am really thinking of getting a g-sync monitor though does not appear to me that many around but i wanted to ask.

is the g-sync worth the extra money or is just running at 144hz enough ?

The base doesn't actually light up, That is a rubber ring so they have saved some cash there, The bezel is thicker and glossy ergo cheaper so money saved there again.

Acxer are decent but realistically this should be £100 cheaper than the Swift mainly due to the luxury features like the light up ring, The luxury stand etc...

You really have to try it for yourself, I tried a Swift at a friends house and was a bit, Meh, About it, Some people get raging epeens as soon as you mention 144Hz and G-Sync so it all depends on personal taste and if it really matters to you.
