Accelero Xtreme

that is huge :|

what a waste of materials

if it was made of copper, i bet it need only be half the size...

pfft...

lol, that's getting a bit much now :(

I would say way too big and a bit of a waste of fans.

Altho looking at the review, it does make the temps better, maybe they should be working on designing GPU's that run cooler

I thought aluminium heatsinks with copper bottoms got better results than full copper heatsinks

I seem to remember there being some tests a few years ago. Something about the way aluminium dissipates heat better where as copper conducts it better

Aluminium takes heat faster but also takes longer to get rid of it.

So the aluminium fins can take the heat off of copper better then the fans help get heat of those by supplying nice cool air.

I think..

Heatpipes arent just copper though.

The thermal conductivity of a metal is constant.

Aluminium is worse at conducting heat than copper, and therefore worse dissipating it too.

There's a lot more too it in reality (which im far too knackered to go into atm) but it boils down to full copper heat sinks are better than hybrids. But if you get the temperature form the wrong place, it will look like the aluminium one is better.
