ABit AM2 Mobos

ABIT AN9 32X - If u positively want to have an ABit mobo, and u have to have AM2, is this pressumed as the best one they make at this moment in time ?

Sub questions:

  • Not alot of movement in the AM2 mobo area (imo of course), is this cos there just isn`t the need to make improvements ?
  • Is this the type of mobo they`re expecting their newest quads to drop into ? Maybe not Opteron, but the possible x4 ?!?
  • Aside from that, the new Opterons gonna go in these anyway ? WtEf is AM2+ ?

Open for discussion / info.

(has to be Abit, has to be AM2 atm)

My favourite abit AM2 mobo was actually the KN9 using the nF4 Ultra chipset (not a big fan of nF5 here) :p

& my AN-M2HD does it's job well.

Tbh I think that we are in a bit of a lull whilst everyone waits on AMD getting their next gen CPUs out - I've heard rumours that all the mobo mfrs have had AM2+ mobos ready for months & that they're gathering dust in warehouses because they can't release them ahead of the CPUs ...

& then AMD has new chipsets (780 & 790) due out to.

"Wtf is AM2+ ?"

I did have a sneaky look at the AN-M2HD, that one with the hdmi socket on the i/o, pretty nice micro mobo by the looks and specs.

I`m gonna struggle trying to cope with 2 pci as it is I think, already thought about getting some pci-e creative x-fi cards - pretty cheap atm. Dunno why I immediately think the onboard isn`t gonna cut it.
