A64 3500+ ClawHammer

I'm thinking about picking one of these up if my Winnie is dead because the price is right on em... Only drawback that I can see is that the hammer core is a 130nm core but it overclocks like a mother.

What do yall think? I think $267 is an unbeatable price for this chip, and I've now come to the conclusion that I can't have my comp down for an additional week if my cpu turns up dead waiting for the Venices to come.

Go For It!

It's sounding like the perfect way to go right now.... 3500+ Clawhammer just seems like the perfect chip at the perfect price (perfect - the 130nm core of course :) but that's beside the point since they're fabulous overclockers).

This is definately what I'll do if my Winnie ends up being dead, then I'll get my new LCD on my next paycheck.

I say a definate yes :D

w00t w00t, kinda hope the super winnie is dead now ;) nahhh, love that lil chip, its so powerful when it's at 2.7ghz!!!

I think I could hit 3ghz with the Clawhammer though :yumyum:

if you hope it is going to be dead remove the IHS or just send it to me ;)

edit: BTW wait for the venice to come out

The 3500+ is not a 'proper' Clawhammer. It has half its cache disabled, leaving it with 512K like its Winchester and Newcastle counterparts.

BTW, Venice isn't where the action is - Lancaster cores are out for skt754 :)

But it's the core design itself that makes it a good overclocker, not the cahce. The 1mb L2 doesn't give any real world performance gain, only a few extra marks in benches.

Still gonna go with this chip if mah Winnie the pooh is dead.

why not venice? and can i have ur winnie ;)

I won't have time to wait around another week for Venice :( And no, no Winnie for you! If it's dead I'm framing it as one of the greatest overclocking procs ever :D
