Guys i'm almost there with your help. Just the final hurdle.

Guys im still a bit hazy as to connecting the mach to a standalone.

So here goes.

Anyway someone can tell me exactly what to do to achieve this.

my main problem is when i switch it on it starts after about 5 secs then shuts straight down, and continues doing this. I think this is normal but i seem to remember nventive telling me to short the power jumper or something.

Please help. (or i'm gonna get my hammer)

Are there any tus on this already, and is the old nventive site and its troubleshooting still alive? (had some handy stuff on there)

cheers me dears

It shuts down if it doesn't detect a voltage on the molex connector - the connector has to be hooked up to a PSU which is on.

If you connect it to the 240v mains then short the blue and white wires the machine should power up and cool down to around -33 before shutting down if it only starts for 5 seconds it sounds like you have other issues

Hmmm, still strange results i wonder if i have the controller board wrong

Piccys, see what you can see guys, resolution is quite high so may need to D/load it.

All help appreciated

Basically when i switch on to test i get a blinking green, after about 10 seconds i get a yellow and a red then a yellow then shutdown, It then keeps trying, i think its some controller connector i messed up maybe.

cheers in advance

Duuude it wont work without the sensors plugged into the board where the hell are they????

ok the saga so far

st ok head freezing etc etc.

Flashed the st (was one of the first i believe), with the new mach 2 firmware, bootloader works fine, and the flash succeeded.

After flashing the unit shuts down and when a restart is tried (waited 5 mins) all the lights come on at the back with one (green) flashing.

Anyideas? should i have flashed to an earlier firmware?

update

Got the control centre and everything in fine shootsup to -48 the shuts down lol, think this may be bacause its passive and not connected to a computer though :)

hmm ok seems to be a mach 2 fully now however

The display is fine etc, can you answer me this though.

I have the prometia usb hooked up to a laptop.

The mollux connector is connected to a standalone 500w power supply which is switched on and plugged in.

Mobo lead (yellow)=not connected

Power lead (blue/white)= not connected

Display on prom reads "standby -36deg c"

So eveything is in state at the moment

Now if i short the power (blue/white) the prom kicks in

says "running -=35 deg c"

Temperature runs down to 40 deg c then the system shuts down. idle. and restart delay etc.

Is this due to something i have set up wrong in this model?

cheers once again

you sure that PSU is actually on ? have you shorted the main connector correctly to get 12v on ? any load on the PSU ? (some of them shut off with no load).

It sounds like the prommie is fine to me, thats what it will do when not connected.

response

There is no load on the PSU seemingly. That may well be it.

Gonna run it on a test machine for a week or so, How expensive is it to get the prommies gassed?

Phil will regass to R507 for £150 but that gives a huge performance increase too.

You need to plug a mobo into the PSU and switch it on or find a guide to tell you which atx pins to jump.

Yup unless you have power on the 12v molinex connector the system should fire up hit -33 then say idle and shut down if no 12v line is detected ie no power on it but it seems like the unit is fine

Rocking on gas right NOW!

Ok guys thanks for your help and we now have a working mach II.

All i need to do now is remove the bottom from the green ventro case, custom fit the prommie in there, then spray same green with hole visor for prommie display.

Gonna airbrush some damn cool artwork on the case then and ill post me piccys.

cheers again guys.
