I remember when I was quite a bit younger. I put a silent alarm in my car (they were cool a long time ago) You got a beeper and one morning around 3am it went off.
My wife woke me up and I ran down stairs with just pants on and saw someone with their legs sticking out. I kicked the door shut and broke 4 of his ribs.
I saw 3 others run away (stealing from other cars in my apt complex) they got into a pinto (small slow car) and drove away leaving the poor kid with the broken ribs behind.
I chased them and got boared and finally crashed their car into a ditch. I called police and they said go home and they would meet me there. I was scared because I had done so much damage to them. When the police arrived they said no prob as I had the right to defend my stuff (with a wink)
Apparently I totaled their moms car (the oldest was 15) and the other one was in the hospital for quite a while.
Ok now its done right...not really, I had trouble sleeping for several years. I heard noises lots of times...
Now I am a lot older and have let it go but you never really get over theft, burglary or a serious crime committed on yourself.
Bad people suck!

Yea man, I hope you guys don't think I'm being dramatic but I'm serious what happened to me scared the crap outta me. Even though I didn't get hurt, I just keep thinking what's gonna stop someone from doing worse? Last week I was really freaked out and only now am I not as afraid. I still pay close attention to even the slightest bumps but i ono. Chances are it won't happen again and it was some drunk kid cause I am on a main street.
Oh well.
Not dramatic at all. My point was even though I could have kicked all of their asses easily I was still freaked out for quite a while.
One thing to think about is if it happened to you once the chances of it happening again get a LOT smaller. Its been about 30 years and I havent been robed since.

I wouldnt be scared myself if that happend because we live in the US. Ill go outside and kick some ass. And since i live in Texas, ill have my shotgun and 1911 with me too. Needless to say nobody messes with me and hasent since highschool ahaha. For the stupid kids around my area that know i have guns, and lots of them that are to young to beat (Since im over 18) i put a laser sight on my rifle BB gun. I dont shoot anybody they just see a red dot on one of their heads and take OFF lol. Seriously ive never seen some white young punks run so fast! Sometimes its the small clever things that keep people outa your yard. Other times, it takes some fists of steel, or literealy fists of steel with brass knuckles, or just flashing a gun on your hip. Ive never had to shoot anybody or even shoot at them thankfully.

Thing is once you've killed them and then u find out it wasnt them you are pretty much screwed
