9yr old + Guitar Hero = pwnage

Ahh yeah my sister showed me this a couple of weeks back... Tis odd.. Near the start he's doing all the buttons up the top with both hands and not flapping the lever (strings) at all..

He sure is amazing.

People have said he plays that game live at bars to proove he isn't cheating.

Must have taken some time to get that good.

At the beginning it's full of hammer ons and pull offs, so no need to strum :)

He is quite famous, has been interviewed by G4TV

Shame it's edited/fixed :p

If you watch the screen and his hands on the fretboard, when the notes change from one side to the other, his hands don't. Also a few bits where he strums early when the notes are still mid-screen (3:50 - as in comments to vid).

Seems to be loads of edited ones on youtube aswell :( also a few with people using the trainer on the pc acting like they are playing.

if he is that good, i wonder how he'll do at other games. you know what he may become the next Fatal1ty - only better, some day

Im sorry guys but just because you can beat GH on Expert dosent mean youd play a real guitar good. It just means you have to much time on your hands.

True but if he applied the same sort of time to playing a guitar he should be able to learn that too. His hand-eye co-ordination is quite obviously quick enough for it

The problem is, that not just anyone can play. I mean yea, you can pick up a guitar and learn some chords and stuff out of a book. But, i know some people that have put their life into it like some people do Guitar Hero and not really progressed. I just am sick and tired of people making the comparison of if you can play Guitar Hero good you must be able to play a real guitar good. No, there is a difference between 5 buttons and 6 strings and 24 frets plus the many many many licks you can do/ chords/ progressions/ theory/ ect. Sorry for the rant, i can go on and on about this. But its just how i feel, and yes i do enjoy the game. I just hate the comparisons.

idiots bashing the kid don't know the nature of streaming media. There are a lot of times where the conversion from the camera/pc to streamable media throws off the a/v sync.

you only really notice the desync after about halfway through, but once it gets to the end you can clearly see/hear that the audio isn't matching up to the notes on screen.

Kid has way too much time, but he's good.

It annoys me when the person holding the camera feels that they have to move it around/re-foucus

*end of rant*

I completely agree and also get bored of people who think they can play guitar just because of guitar hero :(

I also agree with this, playing guitar is so much harder and takes a lot more thought and dedication than guitar hero.

I've seen people try to play guitar and even get lessons but get no-where. I also know people who have been playing for years who understand the different stylings etc, people who make it look so easy.

Guitar Hero should just be about having a laugh. People who think it's teaching them how to play guitar should go out and actually try a real guitar. Then they will understand.

I have tried guitar, didn't have enough time :(

But what I was saying that he has good handeye co-ordination and a decent idea of a beat so he should try

My housemate and a few friends play both real guitar and GH.

They agree that its nothing like the same, but most also say that playing GH has actually helped their regular playing.
