It's Intel's limitation.

2x8 is a chipset limitation.

Great board by a great manufacturer, Limqareb, but they don't show you that it's an nVidia 680i chipset, not AN Intel 975X chipset. Already have an EVGA 680i, want a 975X with dual electrical 16X... but keep looking. (If you find one, I'll give you every last rep point I'm allowed.)

yeah i thought the 680i was not dual x16 but maybe they modded it and made it a dual x16 maybe il find a 975x around

i doubt that it will be a 975 x chipset maybe the will launch and 985x chipset which will be 2 x16
