"Out of stock!!!" It looks like a con to get you through the doors.

Some supermarkets do it all the time. They're called "Loss Leaders". A basket of bananas or whatever at the entrance that are being sold off at a loss, just to make you think "Wow!! that's cheap. Let's go in and see what else they've got!!!"

The difference is, you can buy the bananas, but you can't buy that 8800GTX, 'cos they've never got them in stock.

Edit: Everyone is getting moist between the legs over this 8800gtx/s. What about ATi? They have yet to reply with their alternative. It could be better, and would force prices of 8800's down. Anyone know when ati are going to drop something?

I'll be waiting...

The SilenX 8800GTX WaterCooler (that sexy German one) now has a price of £80/$150. Looks like I'll be hanging onto my gto until Jan/Feb before getting a dx10. Best to see what ati have up their sleeve.

If I do get the 8800gtx I think ze Germans vill be providing me wiz zehr excellent SilenX block lol

Gigabyte have 2 cards gtx/s on the way - for some reason I`d like to see how these perform, their 6600GT really impressed me on the stock front, the silent pipe and how much oc u can get out of them without modding.

IBM reached 500ghz but it wasnt a typical computer cpu, it was just a chip. the type used in advanced telecommunication and supercomputers

I've never heard of them before, but they have a pretty good price for the 8800GTX even tho it's not in stock yet *shrug*
