8800GT Voltage mods revealed

Oh nad 3.6ghz quad and sli'd cards at stock - scores as follows:

3DM01 - 67k

3DM03 - 62k

3dm05 - 23.5k

3DM06 - 18.4k

AQM3 - 195k

Ramp the CPU to 3.75ghz and 3DM06 hits 19.7k, AQM3 = 208k - The CPU is the bottleneck lol :)

Extracted from XS courtesy of DINOS22 and brought to my attention by blindfitter.

Looks like I might have to have anohter go with POS NVidia SLI 775 boards (XFX maybe?)

IMHO stay away from the Reference design (as used by XFX, ECS and BFG) believe it or not I really think the P5N32 you hated with such a passion is the best implementation of 680I

CPU bottlenecking like CRAZY there

Im really tempted to pick up an E6850 and a GT and let rip :(

Seems to me though mate that those are the boards that perform better with Quad - Dinos used XFX.... nuff said.

Although for dual core you might be right a P5N-32E Plus may be the better option - can they be modded?

Everything can be modded

Thing is though- basically for a Quad a high multi is the way to go, because FSB will never be as high, and in terms of 3DMark, only `06 will benefit from a quad- everything else will be happier with the MHz that come with a dually.

a look at GTL ref voltage wouldnt hurt.

Droop for sure, VCore, VDIMM, possibly a cap + choke mod for the CPU, although that could be a challenge.

Water on the NB, possibly the SB too.

Yea...and this is the best 680I mobo..... nVidia hang your head in shame.
