Iv had my current card for like 2 years and just recently built system (as a few may already know) and i ocassionaly do a bit of gaming (FSX, Arma II, Cod4 mainly at the moment) definatly not a harcore pc gamer. I currently have a flat screen 19" VGA (i think) montior that came with an off the shelf system 4 years ago and ill probably get a new 1080p one early next year, between 19-22".

I want to get a powerfull single gpu card as i dnt think i warrent a dual gpu one, i will never use more than one monitor, i have seen ati 5850 for £145 and and i was thinking i could get another later on if need be. I do not care wether its ati or nvidia, I am not going to say how much i have got to spend i just want to see what peoples suggestions on what i have said are and go from there.

thanks.

Some prefer Nvidia Physx while some prefer ATI. Not knowing your preference or a budget parameter and especially Mobo capabilities, I would suggest 5950, 6970 or Gainwards' new 570 phantom My link you get a sweet 570 plus all the sexyness the card offers over other plain 570's plus a quieter/cooler GPU. It all depends om your Mobo honestly.

Either of these options will do you fine while leaving you room to gro ie..OC'ing, serious gaming, multi displays

Ye I'd go for nVidia again and the GTX 460 1GB, you can get the MSI Cyclone or similar versions close to the price you'll pay for the ATI 5850

I think that Amdftw and faisal are more in the right area, i think that captain's are a bit overkill for what im looking for.

What do you guys think between, 5850 nd GTX 460 1GB Hawk, its probably between those unless anyone else suggests anything different, what is better.

Lol...

Yea, I tend to go overkill for myself. I was actually holding back on suggestions for you though Lol.

It's kinda hard to recommend something when you don't have a budget to work with. I thought by you not giving one you werent to worried about cost. I tried and came in over budget haha

I'm glad I didn't go for broke on recommendations now Lol
