8800 Ultra air fun

This is the first card that I got.

Spec of the system I was using

E6320 @ 3.4ghz

4Gb Corsair 5300 RAM @ 458mhz

Abit IP-35 Pro

OS - XP Pro 32bit

Just graphics card overclocking on air.

All 3D Mark 06 scores

I sold the E6320 and bought a Q6600 before I could try SLI with the E6320.

So then it was onto 8800 Ultra SLI.

This box came on 28th of last month.

and there was some very nice items inside it.

To test the cards I used the following spec.

Q6600

2Gb OCZ PC2-9600

2 x XFX 8800 Ultras

OS - XP Pro 32bit

Highest clock speed of the cards I got was 690/1150 but 3D Mark 06 would die 3/4 times I ran it so I lowered the speed of the cards and upped the CPU speed.

All 3D Mark 06 scores

Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 @ 3200mhz

8800 Ultra SLI @ 690 / 1150

As said above I had to lower the card speed as I only got that score on like the 4 or 5th time of running 3D Mark 06.

So close to 20k. I didnt have much time to do this though. After Ive settled in uni I shall have another go at getting 20k and I shall run the other 3D Marks in SLI and maybe some extreme cooling and extreme speeds, we shall have to see about the later though.

Here are the other 3D Marks with a sinlge 8800 Ultra apart from 06 which I dont know where that is and ill do that tonight.

Not very consice because different graphics speeds are used. Ill try them all again tonight with the highest speed I can get that will run them all.

That ram can go further surely? 1 stick of my OCZ 9600 RAM is knackered so im going to have to RMA it. Hopefully, be what is required to get you to the 20k dream? Faster CPU and faster cards. I know that 4.1Ghz quad and cards at 710/1180 will get me it. Watercooling would be needed for the cards.

Wont be able to get the CPU I have up to 4.1ghz I dont think.

Plus ive had enough of watercooling, so im going to be selling all that once I get it together etc. (Im in uni at the moment and dont have any of my watercooling stuff with me.)

Currently thinking about buying a PS3 or should I try and buy a phase. Hmmmm

Damn, some nice scores mate! What's your stressed temp @ 3,9Ghz on water? I have a similar setup: PA120.2 / D-Tek Fuzion / Laing Pro and my E6850 @ 3,9Ghz is about 55 degrees stressed...
