hey guys and galls, just wondering about the micro stuttering issues and coil whine on the 7990, I am thinking of buying 1. would I be better off with 2 7950's or 2 7970's ? I can get a 7990 for £455

There's the next generation AMD cards coming out in a couple of weeks.

You'd be better off waiting for those really before buying anything.

the new card is going to be based somewhere in between the 7970 and 7990, and be between £400-£600 and only 1 card is coming out soon, the rest will be out next year

The coil wine is atrocious on the xfx ones in my experience. Wait for the reviews of the new card in my opinion

I know this sounds stupid, but what exactly is coil whine?, is it a high pitched squeel

Yeah, a high pitch squeal, it is incredibly irritating. My current 'card (a 7870) has it and its so infuriating.
