7990 vs 690

Ok, so Im thinking about building a mini-ITX build and was just wondering, what would be the best graphics card I could get?
I've seen some 690 for just a little cheaper than some 7990's :)

it depends on the resolution you want to game at?

for 1080p i wouldnt really go the dual gpu route, mainly due to heat, id say 7970/680
but if you're planning on gaming higher than 1080p, then id say Titan, purely because of the heat factor, i mean i run 2 7970 on air in a big case with lots of ventilation, and they get pretty toasty ~75-80 degrees on load.

Well, on my board I obviously cant go with a dual graphics card setup (I mean 2 separate GPU's) so I was just wondering which is better.

And I game at 1080p now but want to start on a 3-way eyefinity/surround setup.

the 7990 will probably handle the high resolution better and eyefinity is better than surround.

I just love it when you leave a thread for a few hours and have the satisfaction of seeing reply's! An the build this card would be going in would be with an overclocked 3570k and fully watercooled in a Bitfenix Prodigy :). I was just wondering what the creme of the crop would be for it.
BTW would a 3570k bottleneck a 7990 or a 690?

nah probably won't. AIO wc or custom loop? i had the idea for a very small custom loop build, with custom case and everything. definitely want to do that some day.

Well I was going to do a full custom loop on the 3570k and the GPU (whatever I decide on) in a Bitfenix Prodigy with a 240mm Monsta in the roof and a 200mm Phobya rad in the front with a Laing D5 Vario pump :)

theres not enough room for a frontal cooling solution thicker than a fan or 30mm.
and thats tight.. i think i saw one with a widdled down fan shroud to clear enough.

Ok guys, thanks for the reply's on weather it will fit or not. It looks like a 690 would fit but for the price I don't think it's worth it in comparison to the 7990 :)

This is a joke right? A mini-itx build with one of these? Well anyways get a 7990 because it has more VRAM and can handle multiple monitors at higher settings.

Well I can't actually have a 7990 because I'm going to be watercooling the whole system and if I lose the 200mm rad in the front (which I would have to do if I wanted a 7990 in there) I would have nowhere near enough radiator surface area to water cool everything and overclock as well :).

And yes, I'm serious!

Well, no I probably don't need to go push pull actually. I've heard that some people have used multiple rads sandwiched together like this:
=Fan +Radiator
= =
+ +
= =
+ +
= =
Would this be possible? If not I just wanted to clear that up for myself :)
