7850 oc or 7870 oc

the cards are on amazon the 7850 is £190 and the 7870 is £230. both are sapphire, both are oc versions, is the increased performance on the 7870 worth the extra £40?

i know that the 7850 can be oc'd to 7870 performance but i would pref to run stock

id go for the 7870 if you have the money, and you will also have the overclocking performance in reserve if you will ever need it.

On Aria, you can get a reference 7870 for £200 atm. I'd probably still go for that if you arent intending to OC, and it will still OC pretty well if you need it to

if you don't want to oc the gpu then you've pretty much answered your own question lol. pukker up the extra dough and get the 7870.

or save a bit longer and get a 79xx / nvidia 6xx

deffo don't want stock cooling. and the 7950 are a bit rich for me.

If they're both the same number of shaders then get the 7850 and OC as far as you can on stock volts if you're worried about noise.
