780 and titan Sizes, they the same ?

Yes, the PCBs are almost identical so depending on which cooler you have on there, they will be the same size.

Thanks for the info peeps, So I'm guessing the same rings true for the cooler, Only difference is the Titan/780 branding ?

Yeah it's an identical cooler, apart from the branding. PCB's are so close to the same I've fitted a titan waterblock no problem.

Any chance you could take some pictures of the cooler itself, off the pcb? Especially the back of the fan gubbins. I want to know how much modifying I'd need to do to fit a universal waterblock and put the fan shroud back on it, like I did with my 670's :D.

I'll dig them out the loft tomorrow and take some pics.

Aye, the lit logo would be gone for sure, a bit crap looking anyways. Could always recycle the green led and put it inside the card ;).

I agree on doing it right or not at all. Just considering what way would look the best.

Here are the pictures of the back of the cooler.

Here's a of shot of the 780's installed in M8 with titan waterblocks, I know I should have taken some shots as I was installing them, but I got too excited to get them in and running.

Thanks for the photos, my 780's due on Wednesday but I was wondering if you think it might be possible to replace the green "Geforce GTX" sign with a red version in some way? The rest of my new rig will be black and red, no green, hence the query. Thanks.

As far as I know its just a green piece of transparent plastic glued on, You would just need to find the same thickness in the colour of your choice.

Thank you very much indeed, if I figure this out I'll take photos and post them for future reference.

Cheers for the images NoPrisoners!

Looking at it I don't think it's easy, and just like my 670's, irreversible.

I would leave on the black metal heatsink plate that makes contact with the memory chips and stuff, but drawing a few crude lines shows me what would have to go.

Also, having a look at the Titan stripdown video Tom did, there is an important part that would have to be removed.

Imagine this in place (this is one of my 670's before refitting the shroud). You'll see what I mean if you image that block on the Titan/780.

Half of the light up moniker would have go, which would look crap. As it's part of the fan surround it wouldn't be practical to fabricate something to replace it, and look good.

I think I've talked my way out of it :p. Unless some kind soul at Nvidia wants to sell me 2 spare covers for 780's? Then I'd do nuts and do it for sure! I'd be creative about what I placed in the window...
