770 gtx 4gb sli 4k?

lol i know this is going start a battle here. which i was trying avoid but im not exactly thrilled about current amd cards. id much rather a nvidia product. please leave it at that.

what about tri sli? this way i can buy two cards now and add a 3rd down the road when i have a few extra bucks

Doesn't matter how many 770s you add, you'll be limited be the poor memory bandwidth, no?

High resolution gaming = AMD right now. Unless you get a Titan, that's just how it is.

amd = not happening lol. though a 780s at a stretch maybe. id be curious on what would fair better 770 4gb or 780 gtx. 770s have more memory but the 780 is a stronger card hmm

The only comparison I can offer is my sli 670 4GB's at 2560x1600, which is half the pixel count of a 4k monitor, manage over 60fps at almost balls to the wall settings with Anno 2070.

It's difficult to extrapolate what will happen with the higher res; I don't think it's as simple as halving the fps just because the pixel count is double. Same goes for the two cards you mention. Read some websites and you'll know as much as me :).

The 3GB on 780s/780ti's is enough since AA probably wouldn't be able to be enabled anyway (for most games) because fps would be too low. Titan would be preferable longer term if you could afford 2 or even 3 I'll give you that.

just released the dell 4k 28 is maxxed at 30hz now i have decide , if i should go 24 inch 4k or save money and go 1440p 27inch

If you've never used above 1920x1080 you'll find 1440 gaming pretty mindblowing.

Leave the 770s well alone for 4K

You can use two GTX 780s/780ti's/290Ps/290Xs with reduced settings.

A couple of GTX 770s are just not up to the job @4K however much memory they have.

^This.

ive owned a 30 inch 1600P before unfortunately it was the gateway of doom lol (had the xhd3000 unfortunately)

so ive been stuck with 1080 for a while.

im picking up two 780s for now. and unfortunately and waiting for the release of the asus 4k monitor as the dell is 30hz limited. or the samsung which ever comes first

Well I'm glad you've come to your senses dual 780's are a much better option. But those 4k monitors I would highly suggest you don't touch. There are 60hz 4k monitors coming out very soon given they are TN panels but they are just as expensive as the Dell ones, priced around $750 but with that 60Hz requirement.

1440P and 1600P monitors are quite cheap at the moment, depending on whether or not you want to shop around or go for Korean Panels. If you only want a 60hz panel you could go IPS or if you want to overclock your panel you could go PLS.

Good luck and enjoy your 780's.

lol AGAIN im picking up the asus 4k panel on release. which IS a 60hz panel. Ideally id want the PLS samsung 4k but its not being released to fall.

Having watched videos from CES of the Asus 4k with G-sync, I must admit I'm smitten. 4k in a diagonal 31.5" with the silkyness of g-sync, yes please.

However, a quick google of the PQ321QE shows it's retailing at about £2,800, then add in £200 for the g-sync module; £3k for a 4k...it won't be for me until the price drops significantly. Half the price and I'd bite!

you can get the dell version with the igzo panel for 2500 usd all day. which is about 1800 euro or 1500 pounds. which is the same panel as the asus that you could add the gync module to apoun release. though im also looking at the asus pb287q , which retails for 799$

if I was you i'd get 2x sapphire toxic r9 290 can be had for £340each.. best bang for buck..

or 2x titans

you decide :)
