75 degrees on custum wc

Hi guys.

i've just cleaned my wc loop and now my I7 4790K @ 4.7 ghz : 1.3v.

im getting 75 C. under load when gaming. its that normal?
before cleaning my wc loop i thought that it hits so high temps because i need the "insertpin and the jet plate" so i did put both of them back in the CPU block.

my setup:

2x 360 rads
EK supremecy evo
2x Asus matrix 290x
d5 pump
250 cylinder

ill put a before picture of my setup and after.

the one after has white hoses.

That setup depending on fan speeds and graphics overclock yeah I would say that's about right when gaming. The 290x is a very hot card so 2 of them and your cpu all under heavy load can easily push your temps up.

I would actually say that 75 degrees isn't that bad at all with that setup

A 295X2 is easily cooled with a 240mm rad so the 290s are dealt with one 360, the second one should benefit even more so your cpu shouldn't get that hot. Check for air in your block. Maybe there is some in your rad too.

Isn't a 295x2 , 2 down clocked 290x's?

When I had my saphire 290x it was a heat monster especially when overclocked

my 2 290x doont even go up more than 36 C under load. My cpu is my main concern.

i cleaned my loop for about 2 hours with vinigar acid. the rads are clean. after rinsing 3 times. no filth came out. no algie or other nasty stuf.

i think that i mayby have to upgrade my fans. i have now thise corsair sp120 fans.

The Corsair SP fans are fine. Your temps are pretty much Normal. The devils Canyon series had an improved heatspreader. However its still not as good as the SB.

As for the GPUs. Are you talking about load temps here? If so then there may actually be a problem with the CPU coolng/block etc if your ambient temps are low enough to help cool the cards that well under load.

yeah thats what im talking about. load temps on the gpu's.

i suspect the fans or the cpu block. i re checked the paste just to see if i maybe got to much or to little. it look good.

1.3V through a CPU with a still relatively poor thermal interface is going to result in quite high temps. I don't think you will gain much through changing the fans, to run high overclocks at low temps then a delid and repaste could make all the difference. The loop seems appropriately specced for the heat load.

Are your SP120's quiet edition or performance edition. Something like a Noctua F12 or EK Vardar may net you a tiny a bit more airflow at a lower noise level but the SP120's are suitable for the application even at low speeds.

guess i draw the bad solicon lottory on my cpu. delid is the very last resort. im a nerd, but not that much to delid my cpu. :/

i love vardar from EK. but when its radiator fans. dont i have to look on CFM or what do i look for for radiator fans if CFM dont count

You look for static pressure in the first place.
Also just to be sure, did you take off the plastic cover from the Cpu block?

Thats the first thing i did, when i unpacked the box. ☺
What kinda sp fan specs do i have to look for? High cfm, high rpm etc.

ive been looking on Vadar f3-120's at 1850 rpm. according some reviews they r pretty good.

Well i'm using the EK F4 2200RPM White ones atm i can't complain about them at all.

I don't know anything about the F3's

In the end it really doesnt matter what fan you have as long as its half decent. A noctua S12a (an allegedly air flow optimized fan) will perform within a few degrees of a noctua F12 (a pressure optimized fan). As long as your Corsair fans fit into your sound requirements, meaning they are silent enough for you, you should be fine.
